Texas A&M students are converting shipping containers into medical clinics to be used in COVID-19 testing.

The students are part of the student organization BUILD.

One of the clinics has been sent to Houston-area Memorial Hermann Hospital to aid in their fight against the coronavirus

The students said they are incredibly proud to be able to offer this support.

“BUILD is so thrilled and honored to partner with Memorial Hermann in such a challenging time,” said Abby Launikitis ’21, BUILD CEO. “Our Texas Aggie Medical Clinics (TAMCs) may seem like a drop in the bucket, but we are trying to send them out to help as many people as possible. We are so grateful to all our sponsors big and small for supporting BUILD and allowing us this amazing opportunity to aid in the fight against COVID-19.”

The group is planning to send out four clinics. Locations for those clinics are currently being considered.

The organization has previously built and sent a clinic to Larado, and dedicated 12 clinics to the 12 Aggies who died in the Bonfire collapse.
