Over 380K gallons of wastewater overflow in several Temple areas

TEMPLE, TX — Due to recent storms, the City of Temple's wastewater collection system has experienced a significant wastewater overflow.

There is approximately 388,475 gallons of wastewater overflow in the Temple area.

Here are the locations of the spills:

  • 4320 Lions Park Rd: Approximately 150,000 gallons
  • 3420 Northwood Rd: Approximately 81,000 gallons
  • 2501 Westwood Rd: Approximately 74,250 gallons
  • 4611 Chestnut Dr: Approximately 52,500 gallons
  • 1601 S 57th: Approximately 17,750 gallons
  • 3110 FM 3117: Approximately 6,000 gallons
  • 3010 Ira Young: Approximately 5,250 gallons
  • 1722 S 15th: Approximately 1,725 gallons

The estimated time and date of spill was on May 3 at 2:30 p.m.

The areas that are potentially affected are:

  • Bird Creek between Westwood RD and Bird Creek DR
  • Ira Young between S 57th and Interstate 35
  • S 57th between Ira Young and Interstate 35
  • SW H K Dodgen Loop at Bird creek Terrace
  • Stratford Dr. Between Hickory and Olympia Dr.
  • Nob Creek at FM 3117

The city has notified the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Crews will remove debris and properly disinfect the area.
