Chris Talley serves as the Neighborhood Reporter for Brazos and Robertson Counties.

Chris Talley was born and raised in Pasadena Texas, a city within the metropolitan area of Houston.

He earned a bachelor’s degree of journalism from the University of Houston within the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication in Fall 2021, graduating with distinction as cum laude in his class.

Chris is a proud Houston Cougar and cheers on his alma mater every chance he gets.

While attending the University of Houston in 2021, Chris had the opportunity to intern for University of Houston Athletics as a Media Relations intern, attending various in season games for the Football and Basketball. One of Chris’ roles included conducting post-game interviews with coaches Dana Holgorsen and Kelvin Sampson for various Houston-media outlets.

Chris also had the opportunity to intern for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a Studio intern – earning experience at the center of a live production for the ‘World’s largest’ Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2020.

While attending college, Chris had many internships under his belt but, his first was with Houston’s NBC affiliate - KPRC 2 News in 2018. Chris learned at first glance the day-in-the-life of a fast-paced newsroom and the behind-the-scenes operations of preparing for a day’s newscast. He got the chance to shadow long-time reporters of the City of Houston while gathering news, editing news stories, and getting interview experience. His first interview as an intern was with Houston Rocket’s Owner and Entrepreneur Tilman Fertitta.

Before Chris Talley was Connecting the Brazos Valley, Chris’ dream started by anchoring the morning announcements in the 6th Grade at Keller Middle School and Sam Rayburn High School in his hometown of Pasadena.

He's excited for life in Aggieland and looks forward to continue telling stories that will inform and inspire.
