Sheriff's office: Crimestoppers Tip led to arrest of wanted person

A Crimestoppers Tip out of Falls County led to the arrest of a wanted person on Wednesday.

According to the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, a Crimestoppers Tip came was received in reference to the location of a wanted person.

The individual was wanted out of McLennan County and was said to be hiding in a home in Falls County.

Deputies responded to the area and spoke to the resident who stated that he had not seen the wanted person. When they were let into the house, they found 30-year-old Tiffany Nutt hiding under a pile of clothes in a bedroom area.

She was wanted out of McLennan County on charges of failing to appear in court on charges of possession of a controlled substance and tampering/ fabricating with physical evidence.

In the process of making the arrest, deputies found approximately three grams of methamphetamine on Nutt. She was also charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

John Downs, 58, as also arrested in the process. He was found with meth.

Down was charged with hindering apprehension of a known felon.

They were both taken to the Falls County Jail.

Downs’ bond was set at $12,000. Nutt’s bond was set at $510,000.
