WACO, TX — Waco police said a teenager was shot overnight Thursday during an attempted robbery.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. when two males were sitting in a parked car at Guthrie Park. The pair was approached by two other men who reportedly tried to rob them.
Police said both suspects were armed with handguns as each went to a side of the car and demanded money. During the robbery, a teenager who was in the car was shot in the right forearm and right hip.
The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene and took the victim to the hospital.
Waco police will continue to investigate the shooting.
