Clifton police are still working a case of a possible abduction, but they said they believe that no abduction occurred on Monday.
According to police, at approximately 5:02 p.m. on Monday, a citizen saw a man force a girl, possibly a juvenile, into his vehicle in the area of N. Avenue D.
The vehicle was described as a white Chevrolet pickup.
The suspect was wearing a blue button-up shirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots and a brown belt.
The girl was wearing a white shirt with maroon cuffs, blue jeans, black and white vans, brown hair with blonde tips and blue pins in her hair.
Clifton police said that it is possible that this was a father or family member picking up a young girl who refused to go home, however, until this information is confirmed, they are calling this a possible abduction.
Since the report, Clifton police have had assistance with Bosque County Sheriff's Office, district attorney's office, Texas Rangers and the DPS patrol division and other agencies in the surrounding areas have assisted in the possible abduction.
Officers have communicated with schools and all female students have been accounted for. Additionally, no parent or family member has reported a missing child.
Officials have a lead on a father who routinely has to locate his daughter and sometimes forcibly takes her back home. The father and daughter have yet to be identified.
They said they cannot close the case, but they "have a high level of confidence that no abduction occurred."
This is still an open investigation.
