A local group is in need of community support.
The Greater Fort Hood Area, Out of the Darkness Walk, works to promote awareness and help prevent suicide.
The walk is slated for later this year, though the group needs community support now to gain the funding and local traction needed to assemble a successful event.
The group of seven volunteers needs more hands on deck in an effort to spread awareness and earn donations in order to fund local suicide prevention campaigns.
Of all funds earned, 50 percent goes to the local Texas area, while the other half will fund suicide prevention on a national level.
All nonprofits that support mental health and wellness are welcome to join their efforts as well.
