No. 1 Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling defeated ETBU on the road

MARSHALL, Texas – In the first-ever acrobatics and tumbling meet at East Texas Baptist University, the Bears defeated the Tigers, 282.180 to 161.950 on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears took an early lead after compulsory, scoring 38.50 to the Tigers’ 29.20. From there the Bears never looked back and never trailed throughout the meet.

The acro event was highlighted by a 9.90 in the 7 element, while the Bears scored their lone perfect 10 of the day in the open event of pyramid.

Baylor was ahead 97.55-69.00 at halftime, and extended their lead through the toss event, scoring a 28.60 to improve to 126.60.

The high score for the Bears was a 9.975 on 6-element in the tumbling event as the Bears scored 56.10 to the Tigers’ 33.10.

The Bears closed things out with a strong score in the team event, coming through with a 99.93 to ETBU’s 35.30. The Bears finished with a total score of 282.10, besting last week’s score of 275.805.

With the win, the Bears have now won their last 21 meets with their last loss coming on Feb. 25, 2017 at Oregon.

The Bears will be off next weekend before hosting Quinnipiac in the home opener on Sunday, Feb 24 at 1 p.m. CT.
