The Killeen Youth Advisory Council hosted a masquerade themed valentine’s dance for special needs students.
The event was hosted at the Killeen Community Center on Friday.
“We’re including everyone, and the most important thing is to get together regardless of restrictions or the titles produced to them and have fun,” said Ahlysha Hicks, Youth Advisory Commission.
Many teens and pre-teens with disabilities don’t take part in proms or other social gatherings. But the group is on a mission to make all youth feel included.
“We just thought it would be a lot of fun to have everyone there and everyone represented,” said Madelynn Spear, Youth Advisory Commission Chair.
