OXFORD, Miss.—No. 20 Texas A&M won its seventh consecutive game, defeating Ole Miss 72-60 in a women’s basketball game Sunday at the Pavilion at Ole Miss. The win streak is the longest for Texas A&M in SEC play since 2013.
Chennedy Carter led the Aggies (18-4, 7-2 SEC) with 28 points, marking her fifth straight game with at least 20 points. Kayla Wells scored 12 of her 17 points in the third quarter, as the Aggies erased a 37-34 halftime deficit by outscoring the Rebels 18-6 in the frame.
Ciera Johnson added 13 points and eight rebounds, scoring nine of A&M’s first 11 points. Shambria Washington matched her career-high with six assists. N’dea Jones had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Ole Miss (8-15, 2-7 SEC) was led by Shandricka Sessom with 17 points.
The Aggies went 23-of-27 (85.2%) from the line, setting SEC season-highs for both free throws made and free throw percentage.
The Aggies wrap up this two-game road swing on Thursday, February 7 at Missouri, with tip set for 6 p.m. on SEC Network. Texas A&M is home again on February 14 to host LSU.
