COLLEGE STATION- Texas A&M women’s basketball hosts the 13th annual Beat The Hell Out Of Breast Cancer Game, pres. by CHI St. Joseph Hospital, on Thursday, February 14 when the Aggies host LSU at 6:30 p.m. For this game, the Aggies wear a special pink-and-black jersey with the name of a person close to the player who has fought cancer on the back.

Texas A&M is asking for the support of the 12th Man to bring awareness to a disease that affects many and raise funds to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Pink Alliance, a local non-profit in the Brazos Valley who serves as an advocate for breast cancer support.

“It’s a special time of the year as our sport raises awareness and helps in the fight against breast cancer in our annual BTHO Breast Cancer and Play4Kay game,” said Texas A&M assistant coach Bob Starkey, husband to a breast cancer survivor, Sherie. “I’ve been blessed with the support of our Aggie team and the 12th Man for all that we do to promote early detection and raise funds for treatments and cures.”

Fans have the opportunity to donate in a number of ways, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Pink Alliance [pinkalliance.org] and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Fans can purchase an official 2019 BTHO Breast Cancer for $10 online here  [secure.touchnet.com]or at the upcoming men’s (Jan. 30, Feb. 2) or women’s (Jan. 31, Feb. 14) basketball games, as well as the Women’s Basketball Luncheon on Feb. 5 and the Gary Blair Radio Show on Feb. 11.

In addition, there will be a silent auction at the game, with proceeds benefiting the cause, and the Starkeys are to donate $2 for each student that attends the Feb. 14 game.

Breast cancer survivors and patients currently undergoing treatment are invited to claim a complimentary ticket to the game, and participate in a halftime recognition on the court.
