A lockdown has been lifted for a Killeen ISD elementary school after reports of shots fired near the school on Tuesday.
According to Killeen ISD, Meadows Elementary on Fort Hood was on lockdown, but there were no shots in the school.
They said two parents said they heard a sound in the neighborhood. One parent said she thought it was a gunshot, the other said it was a car backfire.
There are MPs on the scene and they are handling the incident.
