The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball team gained votes but could not climb a spot in either of the national polls this week. The Cru remained 7th in the country in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and stayed at #9 in the nation in the WBCA Top 25 Poll.

The Cru added four points and received votes worth 133 total points to hold steady at 9th in the WBCA Top 25 Poll. Bowdoin is ranked #1 with four first-place votes and 196 total points. Thomas More, the only team to defeat UMHB this season, is ranked second with three first-place votes and 194 total points. East Texas Baptist is ranked 14th by the WBCA and U.T.-Dallas is ranked 23rd to give the American Southwest Conference three teams in the poll.

UMHB stayed in place at #7 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll with 463 points, an increase of five points over last week’s total. Bowdoin and Thomas More are tied for the top spot with 612 points apiece and the Saints claimed 12 of the 25 first-place votes. ETBU is ranked 15th and U.T.-Dallas re-entered that poll at #23 this week.

The Cru women are 17-1 overall on the season, including victories over ETBU, UT-Dallas and an Oglethorpe team that is also receiving votes this week. UMHB is 9-0 in ASC play after topping Concordia Texas 79-54 on Saturday. The Cru will play ASC West Division road games at Howard Payne and Sul Ross State this week.
