Residents who have fallen on hard times in Gatesville can now get a hot meal for free.

A Little Taste of Heaven’s Soup Kitchen is now serving those in need in Gatesville.

They have prepared meals, as well as food bags for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the week.

The folks at A Little Taste of Heaven said their mission is to help and serve the homeless.

“Homeless is not that you just on the street and that you have no place to go and you’re sleeping under a bridge or you’re sleeping in a park. Homeless is, you don’t have a home and you’re sleeping at your buddy’s house tonight, but you don’t know where you’re going to be at tomorrow,” said Sheila Whipkey, Founder of A Little Taste of Heaven’s Soup Kitchen.

The soup kitchen is serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and will be set up in front of Fabulous Finds off 7th Street for the time being.
