Westphalia ISD is set to close on Thursday and Friday due to a large percentage of students that have the flu or strep throat.

According to the district, the student holiday on Monday will allow five days for the illness to hopefully decrease significantly. There will be extensive cleaning of all facilities and buses that will be done during the break.

There will be no make-up days due to extra minutes built into the schedule.

The basketball game for Thursday vs CTCS has also been canceled to clean the facilities during the break.

Superintendent Robert Hudson said they apologize for the inconveniences, but at this time, it is in the best interest of Westphalia ISD to close.
