Midway Independent School District administrator April Harris has been selected as the Texas Assistant Principal of the Year.
Harris, the Assistant Principal of Midway Middle School, has served as an assistant principal within Midway ISD for four years.
She earned her associate degree of art and an associate degree of science from McLennan County Community College and her bachelor's degree in science and master's degree in education technology and leadership from Lamar University.
Harris has earned numerous achievements including Best of the Teche New Coach of the Year and District Extra Mile Award.
“It is such an honor to be recognized among exemplary educators and I am proud to represent Midway Middle School," Harris said. "Our staff and students are the foundation of our campus and what drives my eagerness to make every day a day to make a positive impact on our campus.”
Harris will attend the National Principal Conference in National Harbor, Maryland in July 2020.
