On Thursday, Lacy Lakeview Police arrested a 51-year-old man in connection to the violent rape of his ex-girlfriend.

On Friday afternoon, Reuben Mays was at the McLennan County Jail on an aggravated assault charge.

The initial incident, which the victim stated lasted three to four hours, happened in the 4000 block of Myers Lane on Monday afternoon.

According Chief John Truehitt, the victim told police Mays, who currently lives in Fort Worth, came to her house unannounced and forced her to have sex with him.

She said she dated him in the past but the relationship had been over for some time.

The victim told officers Mays handcuffed her and tied her to the bed while slapping her and hitting her in the jaw. She also said the suspect used her own gun and pointed it to her head at one point while raping her.

Truehitt said the victim managed to leave the apartment and upon her return she found out the suspect was still there.

She told officers the aggravated assault occurred again when she came back.

The victim reported the case to police on Wednesday morning and officers arrested him one day later.
