ORLANDO (WFTV/CNN) – A military veteran who fought off a suspect who tried to steal his pickup truck is speaking out.

The suspect was wanted for a crime spree through two Florida communities.

The victim said he had just pulled over to check out a house boat when the incident happened.

The dramatic confrontation was caught on camera.

"Got in here and pushed his hands off the steering wheel and off the shifting column," said David Final.

Final says it all happened in the blink of an eye.

One second, he's with a friend checking out this house boat they might want to buy when all of a sudden, he hears sirens and sees a jaguar pull up next to him.

"And he stopped and I seen him starting to bail out and I knew right away, I knew right away he was going for my truck," said Final.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says the guy on the ground, is 34-year-old Anthony Gunther.

They say Gunther stole the Jaguar, and a bracelet Final was holding in his hand.

Deputies say his crime spree through northwest Volusia County lasted only a few hours yesterday.

Final said he was out here camping, and all his possessions were in his truck.

Gunther is now facing numerous charges, including grand theft auto, battery, carjacking, and criminal mischief.

Gunther was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail.
