Sam's Club is helping the community start their new year off in a healthy way, by providing free health screenings.

The event was open to the public, including non-members, and will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all Sam's Club locations with a pharmacy.

The screenings are not only to help people save money but to encourage them to go and get that check-up in case a doctors appointment is needed.

"People don't do these things and if its free service that we can offer, then that gives them a chance to see what they might need if they're okay or they need to have something treated," said Connie Wilson, Member Experience Manager.

Lucy Lupu has frequented these screenings many times in the past. She uses them to keep up on her dietary needs to eat and healthy. She saves the past reports and compares them each time she goes to see if she has improved in her health.

"I come because I can see that it helps me, encourages me to keep going and eat better," Lupu said.

The screenings are up to a $150 value and include the following:

  • Glucose

  • Total cholesterol

  • HDL (good cholesterol)

  • Blood pressure

  • Body fat percentage

  • Vision (not available at all locations)

  • Hearing (not available at all locations)

If you missed this month, the next will be in April 2019.
