The City of Waco Public Improvement District Number One Advisory Board discussed a parking management strategy to build temporary gravel parking lots.

The parking lots will only have a time frame of two to three years, being so that the parking lot will not hinder future expansion in the downtown area. The board believes that the extra parking will decongest spaces for local businesses.

"We can turn around the parking stops where we have merchants and places of business where people need to come and go during the day when they're not getting that opportunity now because people are parking and staying all day," said Lisa Sheldon, Chair of the board.

The board will continue to discuss and work out all of the details and are planning to present to the city council at some time.
