Waco police said a woman who claimed she was kidnapped and assaulted at gunpoint later admitted to lying for revenge.

The woman told officers on Dec. 14 her father assaulted her and dragged her into a vehicle by her hair on Hawthorne Drive. She said she was able to jump from the vehicle and escape to a gas station where she found help.

Police said this report caused officers to put out an alert to the entire Region 6 area of the state. It even resulted in one potential suspect vehicle being stopped by law enforcement.

The woman, identified as 23-year-old Sierra Marie Quintanilla, was arrested for false report to a police officer on Jan. 5.

Police said Quintanilla recanted the story to detectives and said she made the story up out of revenge.
