It was all a part of Learning Steady Academy's STEM Academy Program.

Each week, students explore physical, earth and life sciences with engaging activities all while keeping track using an interactive STEM journal.

Students said they look forward to the new projects.

"We did a superhero zip line, a tractor race and a hot air balloon," said student Alex Miller

Monday's assignment featured a hovercraft design.

The engineering-based class, which is held each Monday, is designed for homeschooled students in third through eighth grade.

Those involved said the ultimate goal is to get kids thinking about how things work through trial and error. Students in Lampasas said they are hooked on science.
