LAMPASAS, TX (KXXV) -

The season of giving may be coming to an end, but one Central Texas teacher shared it is never too late to give back.

Marilinda Walters, the founder of Learning Steady Academy, opened up her private school today to provide free educational materials for local teachers.

She offered up reading, writing, math materials and more.

"We've got 16 or 17 boxes full of materials, so that's got to be in the thousands of dollars," said Walters.

Walters said she has been given a lot of materials throughout her years of teaching and just wanted to find a home for it.

Killeen ISD teacher Brenda Boyd said it makes the world a difference for teachers like her.

"It means I don't have to go out and find more things. A lot of the materials like the ones on tornadoes. I have one on the Galapagos Islands. Just different materials I couldn't find anywhere else," said Boyd.
