On Monday afternoon, a second arrest was made in the Deonshira Slider murder investigation.

The Hillsboro Department of Public Safety said they arrested Cecola Mozon-Wallace, 41, of Modesto, California, on two warrants in connection to the murder of Slider. Slider was murdered in February of this year.

Mozon-Wallace was transferred to the Hill County Jail where she was arraigned on Tuesday. She was arraigned on murder and endangering a child by Hill County Justice of the Peace Judge Brassell.

Monzon-Wallace’s bond was set at $2 million.

On Nov. 18, police arrested the first murder suspect in the case, Edgar Barr.

He was also arraigned for murder and endangering a child charges. On Oct. 29, officials received a report that Barr's jacket from the day of the murder had gun residue consistent with discharging a firearm or being in close proximity of a firearm being discharged.

Police said that Slider was shot through her car door. Her child was in the back seat.

Witnesses told police in February that Slider was last seen arguing with someone at the Crestridge apartment complex minutes before her murder. According to police, an investigation found that she had been receiving threats before her murder.

An arrest affidavit said that a person had scoped out the apartment complex where Slider had lived. One person told police that Barr knocked on his door and asked if a black woman with a little boy lived in the apartment. Barr claimed to have met Slider online.

The murder investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information on the murder is asked to contact the Hillsboro DPS Criminal Unit.
