The Nueces County Commissioners will be voting on a resolution to rename the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi after the late President George H.W. Bush.
Motivated by the Pearl Harbor attack, Bush decided he wanted to join the Navy to become an aviator. He received his wings at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi just three days before turning 19 years old.
Bush died on November 30 at the age of 94. He was laid to rest in College Station next to his wife Barbara and daughter Robin.
The resolution is expected to pass on Wednesday.
