The Marlin City Council announced the new chief of police on Tuesday.
According to Marlin Pride, The Marlin Police Department’s interim chief Nathan Sodek was named the chief of police by the Marlin City Council.
This comes after a controversial candidate, Yost Zakhary, who withdrew his application from consideration amid allegations of sexual harassment in October.
During that time, the city council continued to look for other applicants to replace the former chief Michael Pesses, who retired in October.
