Police chief arrested, accused of falsifying documents

A police chief has been arrested and accused of falsifying documents. 

Palm Valley Police Chief Alvaro Garcia was arrested by Border Corruption Task Force agents.

Garcia, 48, is charged with three counts of tampering with government records for falsifying documents.

The investigation was led by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement with the assistance of the FBI McAllen Resident Agency Office - Border Corruption Task Force and the Texas Rangers.  Cameron County District Attorney's office is prosecuting the case.
