The Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies football teams haven't played each other since 2011, but that didn't stop Rep. Lyle Larson from trying to force the issue.

According to the Texas Tribune, the San Antonio representative filed House Bill 412 which would require the two teams, "play a nonconference, regular-season football game against one another on the fourth Thursday, Friday, or Saturday of November each year."

Rep. Larson, an A&M graduate, gave his proposal teeth too. The bill would allow the state to dock a university's scholarships funded by state monies should it choose not to play in the game.

A similar bill -- from another A&M alum state Rep. Ryan Guillen, made it to a House committee, but never saw a hearing.
