COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Four Aggies received weekly honors from various outlets following Texas A&M’s thrilling 74-72 seven-overtime victory against No. 8 LSU.

Quarterback Kellen Mond, who was named the Walter Camp FBS National Player of the Week, earned a Manning Award Star of the Week nod, punter Braden Mann and center Erik McCoy garnered SEC Player of the Week honors and linebacker Otaro Alaka was named the College Sports Madness National and SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Mond threw for 287 yards and a career-high six touchdowns while rushing for 42 yards and a touchdown. Mond connected with Quartney Davis on a 19-yard strike at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime, and accumulated five touchdowns in the overtime period to give the Aggies their first victory over LSU since 1995. Three Aggie wide receivers recorded multiple touchdowns for the first time in program history, and his six touchdowns were the second-most in a single game by an Aggie quarterback.

Mann, a finalist for the Ray Guy Award, booted five punts for average of 53.2 yards, keeping him on pace to break the NCAA record for the highest gross average in a single season. Four of his five punts traveled 50-or-more yards including one that landed inside the 20-yardline. Three of his punts were returned for -1 yard for a net punt average of 53.4.

McCoy was a catalyst up front for the Aggie offense that produced 521 yards of total offense and propelled running back Trayveon Williams to 198 yards rushing, his seventh game of 100+ yards this season. McCoy and the offensive line protected quarterback Kellen Mond, who threw for 287 yards and a career-high six touchdowns on 23-of-49 attempts.

Alaka recorded a season-high 2.0 sacks with 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry in his final game at Kyle Field. The fifth-year senior registered his third game of the season with 10+ tackles and his fourth game with at least 2.0 TFL.
