The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office helped a group that had toys stolen back on Sept. 12 in West.

Kiwanis Club of West Toy Drive Chairman Cheryl Mynar said someone stole toys they had in storage.

"Most of it was gone. What was left, was filthy. This kind of donation is appreciated by our community," Mynar said.

The organization collects books, puzzles and toys to give to more than 100 children for a Christmas toy drive.

Mynar said the group never expected the theft to happen.

"I was mad, but I was also in tears that someone would do this," Mynar said. "This is one of the things that you pull yourself by the bootstraps and go take care of business. This is truly a blessing because I had no idea that they were going to share this with us."

The sheriff’s office donated new toys from last year's drive and recent toy donations.

If you would like to help the Kiwanis Club of West, you can drop it off at the McLennan County Sheriff's Office located at 901 Washington Avenue.

If you have any information about the crime, call West police.
