November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, and the ASYMCA kicked off a new program just in time to celebrate.

The Copperas Cove ASYMCA Family Center staff are doing what they can to bring families together through their Little Learners program.

The class encourages active duty military families to engage in fun and educational activities with their kids.

Those involved said the benefits come full circle.

"I feel like it is a support system for the parents because they get to lean on each other, and when their spouse is away they get to you know they have friends to lean on," said Dixie Denton who teaches the program.

"It's basically so you know they can bond with each other. You know everyone's families are back home. You know when we do things like this, they get together. They end up making friends,” said army spouse Yvonne Aviles.

Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday for children ages 18 months to 5-years-old at 501 Clara Drive in Copperas Cove.
