A Central Texas restaurant is giving veterans and acting servicemen and women a free meal.

Waco Bubba's 33 gave away a free meal to veterans and active duty men and women.

Also with each meal, they received a Bubba's 33 gift card which was donated by customers, as well as a handwritten letter from kids in the community thanking them for their service.

Phillip Dunn the managing partner for Bubba's 33 is grateful that he has a business in such a community like Waco.

"I'm thankful to own a business in such a giving community," Dunn says. "Today it's not about the profit its more about giving back to the community and saying thank you to these guys these men and women that served or are serving."

Karson Dunn, his son, was the lucky kid who got to give out the letters and gift cards to each veteran that came in.

"It feels great especially since I get to shake their hand go up to them and basically like talk to them." Karson Dunn says.

A table of remembrance was also set up dedicated for the ones that lost their lives in the line of duty. Bubba's 33 also played Taps and held a moment of silence on their surround sound every half hour to pay tribute.

The restaurant gave over 350 meals Sunday.
