Fall is upon us, and that means flu season is right around the corner.

On Thursday, the medical professionals at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen held a free clinic to provide flu shots to the public.

The clinic opened its doors at 1 p.m. and gave free flu shots until 5 p.m.

The hospital said that it’s all part of their mission to give back to the community with promoting health and wellness.

“We have four service standards that we try to provide to every patient every time. One of those service standards is that we make care easy. While we are here for when you get sick and need to be in the hospital, our main goal is to keep everybody well and out of the hospital,” said Erin Riley, Public Relations Manager for Metroplex.

Metroplex said if you missed Thursday’s clinic you can always see your primary care doctor or one of the many local venues offering free flu shots.

They said the sooner you get the flu shot, the better.
