"Same exact thing as last year! Playing for a district title. It's the same thing," said Teague senior wideout Rodney Kuykendall with a smile.

Well, not quite. Last season, Teague played West in their district opener and got thumped by 16. In this season's rendition, the game comes on week 11 with a share of the district title on the line.

Head coach Donnie Osborn says his Lions have learned from last year's mistakes.

"Going back and watching film, we were able to tell -- you know -- tell some things that we didn't do a very good job of and we know they're going to do it to us again. We know that we're going to be prepared for that kind of stuff this year. We just have to be physical up front."

Physicality up front was a problem early for the Lions, but midseason, their offensive line coach shuffled players, redesigned some schemes and since then Teague has been undefeated and averaging 38 points per game.

There's no denying this one means a little extra, but senior lineman Isaiah Bell thinks he has the answer to the West question.

"Whoever wants it is going to have it so it's best man up and we feel like that's us."

We'll find out Friday night at 7:30 in West.
