The Ohio-based LION company travels across the region to bring its equipment and gear to local firefighters.

With the new LION Mobile Fire Experience, firefighters can test what the company has to offer in real-life situations.

A room inside the trailer can simulate a structure fire. There are panels that light up, crackling sounds and smoke that fills up the room.

Firefighters can also jump in their bunker gear and hose down a car that goes up in flames within seconds.

"They're getting to stay safe, they're getting to work in an environment, learn in an environment that isn't loaded with carcinogens, so it's much safer from that point," said Michael Kucharksi, Director of Metro Accounts for LION. "It's just new technology, things that they may not even know existed."

The LION Mobile Fire Experience arrived on Tuesday and will be around until Thursday. It will operate from 10 a.m. to noon at the MCC Emergency Services Education Center.

LION was invited to town by the Waco Fire Department. The company expects to serve about 10 agencies in the surrounding area.
