A Bell County man was arrested on Nov. 2 after police say he held his girlfriend at knifepoint and raped her.

Kyle McGowan held a knife to his girlfriend's throat while threatening to kill her if she wouldn't have sex with him, the arrest affidavit says.

When Nolanville officers spoke with the victim, she said she came home and had dinner with McGowan, who had been drinking. When she went to the bedroom to lay down, McGowan came into the room nude from the waist down with an orange pocket knife.

The victim said she told McGowan she was going to sleep at a friends house, but he then pushed her down and put the knife to her throat, saying he would kill her if she didn't have sex with him.

The affidavit says McGowan then raped her and told her he was going to kill himself.

When McGowan stopped, he took the victim's phone and went to the bathroom. The victim was able to run out of the house and drive to a nearby gas station where she reported the assault.

McGowan was arrested for aggravated sexual assault and booked into the Bell County Jail. His bond has been set at $150,000.
