A man was arrested and charged in Florida after police say he brought two suspicious packages to a school on Tuesday.

According to Winter Garden police, 25-year-old Taylor Patterson was arrested and charged with trespassing on school property and interference with a school function.

Officers contacted Patterson at the school in reference to suspicious activity. In the area of the middle school, two suspicious backpacks were located.

Officers said one backpack was in a truck and one was hanging on a fence on the west side of campus.

Children who walked to school were being routed back home and the other children were being requested to be taken to a nearby high school.

The backpacks were cleared and had no signs of foul play. The Winter Garden Police Department had no concerns about the safety of the school administration and the students.

Patterson was also arrested in Central Texas in 2016 after leading police on a chase in a stolen ambulance.

He escaped from a patrol car and stole a Harker Heights ambulance that was staged at the scene. He collided with several Harker Heights police cars and led police on a chase.

Patterson then lost control of the ambulance and rolled over. He was taken into custody and charged.
