A suspicious package has been found on Baylor University's campus. According to an email alert sent to students and staff, the package does not appear to pose an imminent threat to the campus community.
Baylor University police said the package was found on Tuesday outside the Tidwell Bible Building on the Waco Hall side.
The McLennan County Sheriff's Office was called in to assist police.
While initial investigation shows the package does not appear to pose a threat to the campus, police asked students, faculty and staff to avoid the area.
At 11:45 a.m., the area was cleared and campus activities resumed as normal.
UPDATE: The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office assessed the unattended package, and it is not a threat to campus. It is safe to resume activities.
