Avelynn, 7, spent the day at The Robinson Family Pumpkin Patch in Temple, but she's searching for a family to call her own.

This is now the second time Avelynn will be adopted. Fun fall activities are just what Avelynn needed.

"Once she opens up to you, she is so kind and affectionate. She is almost like a little nurturer," said CPS Adoption Caseworker Carese Grey.

Behind her beautiful brown eyes, is a tender heart that has been broken before.

"Her grandmother unexpectedly passed and that's why she returned to our care," said Grey.

Grey helped place Avelynn in her grandmother's care and now she is looking for a forever family for the second time.

"I just put it in my heart to be one of my top priorities to find an adoptive home for her again. One that is safe and appropriate and nurturing for her," said Grey.

Her smile gives you a peek into her endless potential.

"She's kind of like a little rosebud and once the layers and petals fall off she blossoms into this little rose and it's wonderful to see," said Grey.

Avelynn is intelligent, loves arts and crafts and has a beautiful imagination but the complete picture includes a forever family.

"The first time when we were able to get her grandmother to adopt her, it was a moment of peace and I feel like it will be like that again and I will have that peace of mind and security knowing this is where she was supposed to be," said Grey.

Avelynn's bio is featured in The Heart Gallery of Central Texas, a program of Partnerships for Children.  Central Texas News Now "Forever Families" airs every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
