A man was charged and arrested on Thursday after police said he drunkenly shot at a boy on June 8.

According to the affidavit, on June 8, Ramon Wilson aimed a gun and shot at a 10-year-old boy. Wilson shot at his feet with a handgun in a Killeen home.

When Wilson shot at the boy’s feet, it ricocheted from the floor and struck the boy in his stomach, causing pain and bodily injury. It was also stated that Wilson had been drinking that day when he shot at the boy.

The boy then ran next door and shouted, “I don’t want to die, don’t hurt me!” The neighbor said the boy was holding his side and crying.

Wilson went to the neighbor’s house to try and take the boy, and he appeared to be intoxicated.

When officers interviewed Wilson, he said he was shooting in the backyard, but not at the boy. Officers went into the room where the boy was shot and there appeared to be new flooring.

After officers contacted the owners of the home, they said they did not put in new flooring and provided photographs of their inspection.

Wilson was arrested and charged with injury to a child – reckless bodily injury.

He was transported to the Bell County Jail.
