A man was arrested and charged after police said he shot a man on Sunday.

According to the affidavit, Killeen police responded to the 700 block of 46th Street in reference to a shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they found a victim who had been shot in the right side of his abdomen. The victim said he was shot in an apartment building. When officers entered the apartment, they observed a large amount of blood on the bedroom floor and saw a 9mm shell casing on the floor by the blood.

Officers spoke to a witness who said the victim slept on the couch the previous night because of an argument the victim had with his wife.

When Chrystopher Brown arrived at the apartment and found the victim on the couch, he overreacted.

The witness said Brown got into an argument with the victim in the bedroom. The witness later heard a gun go off two times, striking the victim.

The witness signed a consent to search and allowed officers to search the apartment. An officer located the gun under the dresser in the bedroom.

When officers spoke with the victim at Baylor Scott & White, the victim said that Brown came into the bedroom and kicked him in the head. He later heard a gunshot and felt pain at his side.

Brown also punched, kicked and pistol-whipped him.

After the victim left, he saw a black and silver pistol on the floor and pushed it under the dresser, so Brown could not find it and shoot him with it.

Brown was arrested and charged with aggravated assault bodily injury with a deadly weapon.

He was transported to the Bell County Jail. His bond is set at $100,000.
