After a "hit list" rumor at Lorena High School circulated on social media, Superintendent Joe Kucera said the rumor is not credible.
Lorena High School administration worked with Lorena police to investigate the report and found the information to be incorrect.
"Unfortunately, unfounded misinformation has been shared on social media and has understandably resulted in widespread concern from Lorena parents, students, and the community as a whole," Kucera said in a notification to parents. "Please be confident that the safety and security of the students and staff at Lorena ISD is paramount."
As a precautionary measure, the district will take additional steps to ensure the security for students and staff.
