A family in Canada discovered they buried the wrong man after their relative reappeared.

CBC News reports the family may have actually buried 80-year-old Scott Cushnie, a renowned Toronto pianist known as Professor Piano.

Cushnie, who played with Aerosmith, was legally blind and lived in an independent seniors' apartment east of downtown Toronto.

He went missing in August around the same time another family reported their relative missing. The family was contacted by law enforcement about a man that died in a hospital after falling while walking downtown.

The man was identified by the family as their missing relative and held a funeral for him.

Months later, that missing relative reappeared, alive.

Now, police and the chief coroner must determine the real identity of the body.

A close friend of Cushnie believes that man is him. She has been leading the search for him since she went to his home in August, only to find his phone and wallet.

The buried body will soon be exhumed so that the chief coroner can confirm the identity.
