Over 24 pounds of cocaine was seized by the Brownsville Customs and Border Protection at the Gateway International Bridge.

The drugs were found on Monday, Oct. 8 when a 32-year old male Mexican citizen applied for entry into the United States.  He was driving a white 2009 Ford Fusion, the vehicle was referred to the CBP after a primary examination.

The CBP performed a non-intrusive inspection of the vehicle and with a K-9 unit found the 10 packages of cocaine hidden in the vehicle. The officers arrested the driver and turned him over the custody of Homeland Security. The estimated street value of narcotics from the seizure is approx. $187,680.
