McLane Children’s is receiving a donation of 100 handmade wooden boxes on Wednesday.

The boxes are being donated by Norm Burgess and Kenneth Mays of Brazos Valley Wood Turners, they will be given to the pediatric patients at the hospital. They will use these boxes to store the Beads of Courage they collect as they undergo treatment.

Beads of Courage started in Arizona 11 years ago and is now found in 240 hospitals. This is to help provide an innovated arts-in-medicine program for children coping with a serious illness.
