Police: Woman arrested after she stabbed, killed man

A woman was arrested on Monday after police said she stabbed and killed a man on Sunday.

According to Corsicana police, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers received a 911 call that a subject had been stabbed inside of a residence in the 2400 block of W. 4th Avenue.

Police arrived at the scene and found a victim lying inside of the residence with a bleeding stab wound to the chest. Before being airlifted to a Dallas area hospital the victim was conscious and made several statements as to who caused the injuries.

Corsicana police were notified by the Dallas area hospital that the victim had succumbed to his injuries shortly after 4 a.m. on Monday.

Police said the victim was in a relationship with the suspect. They located and arrested her without incident at the 1400 block of Mockingbird Lane at 9:30 a.m.

She was arrested off the original warrant of aggravated assault which was issued before the victim died. The charge is anticipated to change upon the Navarro County District Attorney’s Office.

The name of the suspect will not be released until after she is arraigned by a magistrate.

The case is still under investigation.
