MIDLAND-ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Big Brothers Big Sisters is changing its branding. On October 1 it revealed a new look as well as a new name-Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Permian Basin.

With the new name comes an expansion of services to Ector County,

“We are excited to be able to serve children and families in both Midland and Ector County,” said Katy Crites, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Permian Basin.

“The need in the Permian Basin for young people to have a role model is more urgent than ever,” said Crites.

After months of researching, Big Brothers Big sisters found the previous brand was not conveying the mission of the organization nor was it connecting with potential mentors.

However, Big Brothers Big Sisters assures their mission stays the same despite the attempt to modernize the brand. The core focus of pairing children with adults and supporting the children’s potential is still integral to the organization.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Permian Basin hopes their new logo, with an uppercase and a lowercase b blending together, will help people realize that just like the matches made between Bigs and Littles the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

“In our community, we know that youth are facing numerous challenges,” said Crites. “Our organization’s new brand is designed to help us ensure we can serve more children in Midland and Odessa by recruiting more volunteers.”
