Wanted man arrested after leading police on foot chase

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a manhunt on Monday. The suspect was arrested Tuesday. 

According to Bryan police, the Direct Deployment Team coordinated a warrant service on a man wanted on a felony warrant. At 7 p.m., the search for 25-year-old Marcel Oliver was suspended. He currently has a warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. a Brazos County Sheriff Deputy spotted the man near Balcones and Rio Grande Dr. in College Station. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and the wanted man jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Oliver was arrested  Wednesday morning after leading police on a chase after 7:30 a.m. 

Oliver was arrested in the 1800 block of Shadowwood. 

He was arrested on several warrants, including unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and three traffic warrants. Oliver was also charged with evading arrest and possession of marijuana.
