The new iPhones have caused quite a buzz and that hasn't escaped the notice of criminals.
The manager of the T-Mobile store on New Road in Waco said a man with a snipping tool came into the store around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, and ran off with a couple of cell phones valued at about $2,000.
He ran behind the store, catching the attention of a former state trooper shopping nearby. The trooper tried to stop the man but could only get a picture of his car and license plate
The manager said something similar happened Thursday night at the Central Texas Marketplace store, and that workers have become extra vigilant since the Sept. 14 robbery of a T-Mobile store in Killeen.
