The Belton city council unanimously approved a strategic plan that included the building of a road that will connect Stillhouse Hollow Lake and Lake Belton.
The Lake to Lake Road project is something the city has had in mind for nearly 20 years, said Paul Romer, Belton Public Information Officer.
The city has been working with developers through the years by securing a right of way to connect two Farm to Market Roads in Belton, with one coming from Stillhouse Hollow and one coming from Lake Belton, as the building in the area increases.
There are some residents that do not want the road to be built even though the city has had to work towards this for years.
